Wait a couple of years and the new body style will be wide spread also. I would take a 04 over 05 anyday.

i hear that . you'll be LUCKY to get it at MSRP. probably a couple grand over MSRP actually. i was going to get the 05 GT, but with all the cash-back incentives and mark downs on the 04, i couldn't pass it up.

i appreciate everyones response. it definitely makes me feel a bit more comfortable with my purchase. my previous car was the first-run model of it, and i got all the fun recalls and repair issues that come with something like that. i really didnt want to deal with that again. so now i get to wait a few years for the cobra to come out. for now i get to rock out in the convertible -- and youre right -- nothing beats that.

I could go to one dealer and get the new 2005 for 8.88% over invoice. [sm=ts.gif]

I agree with mustangGTdude1031 about the 05. Don't get me wrong it is a very sharp looking car, but why retro. If I wanted a car that looks like the 60's, then I would by a 60's car. Plus with everything new, there are going to be problems. I think since the Mustang is 40 years old, then they should have came out with a car that looks 40 years ahead of the 1st one. Not just spice up the old looks. Anyway IrishRedGT, sound like you got a good deal.

I did the same thing... I was all set to wait for the 05 but the cash back on the 04s was just too much... that and the fact that the 05 Vert won't be out til May. Ford's been saying both the V6 and V8 would MSRP under 20k but I find that hard to believe, the people at the dealership said the V8 couple would probably be over 30k... the Vert... good lord who knows... I'm happy with my 04
