Factory GT Hood Scoop

RE: Factory GT Hood Scoop
So I am going to pull this thing out of the depths and add a new reply.
I also really dislike the honeycomb. Mine is faded, it harbors water and bugs, and drips on the hood as I am trying to wax (as many others have stated.
I was thinking about going to TAP plastics and buying a piece of glass black plastic, or maybe getting some aluminum sheet and painting it gloss black, and affixing it over the honeycomb to seal it and elimiate the issue.
My first question is, has anyone done something like this?
Next, what type of glue should I use? 3M acrylic tape, epoxy, etc.?
Finally, how do I get the black honeycomb piece off the hood scoop to play around with it? Is there a Chiltons or something that shows how to do it?
cheers

What about taking the hood scoop off? The thing is a fake anyway. Or will there be too any holes in the hood? [8D]
