I installed my longtubes and it was a pain in the ***... You dont have to use a cherry picker, you cant lift it straight up you have to lift one side up at a time so it gives you more clearance on which ever side your clearing. I used a floor jack and a 2x4 on the lip of the front of the oil pan.

I have to install a new clutch soon, my throw out bearing is screaming, damn adjustable clutch cable. I adjusted it too much[:@] Well I am going to buy this... http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...9403_200309403
That will allow me to drop the k-member and have the engine supported. I have seen pictures of people that have done that and there are no obstructions when removing or installing the headers. But the only thing is you have to make sure you put the k-member back on square. And you probably will have to get an alignment when your done.

God wanting stuff you can't afford sucks.
Don't worry kid, you get used to it after 20 or 30 years.

Default RE: Shorty Install?

hi i just installed bbk shortiest not to long ago on my 2000 gt i dont know how much room they give you it maybe be better it maybe better to just pull the motor out but not completely out. you should have three bolts for the starter, 5 for the tranny 2 motor mounts. it took me along time to do mine cause i didnt unbolt it from the tranny. there should be one start bolt on the top that you have to come from the front of the car with a long extension. it's going to be hard to get your oil dipstick tube back in to the motor try not to force it cause it will bend easy.there's going to to be some header bolts that will be hard to put in if you dont take the motor out. if you have any questions i will be glad to answer them.
