nice... you like your 4.10s?? Most people I know that had em with a setup close to yours, swapped em out very quickly once they had em in... and went faster - thats how I know you dont stay in your powerband long enough for the boost, lol.

Not too much, the guy before me had the 4.10s put in and i popped the charger on it...first gear is a joke...and second is just as testy...ive never had to slip the clutch so bad to control a car in my life (4.10s, IRS you get the picture; and yes unless middle NC cant drive, i do know a thing or two about driving)...im planning on going to something lower sometime later, but its fun to play around with right now

i drove a PI with a vortech and a 5 speed with 4.10s, first gear is just like any other car, you shift before 3k so you stay out of boost

so by doing that he must be winning races left and right.. by staying out of boost, right? lol... how is his traction in boost? I can tell you - he may beat you in first, second and third gear - but when I fly by him in 4th and win the race - he wont be to happy...

When looking for gears you dont want the steepest gears, you want the gears that will give you the best balance, and keep you in your powerband the longest.

ehh traction in boost wasnt the best unless you feathered the throttle, it was a dealer car though so its not like we cared

then why would you ever advise someone to get a blower and 4.10's? Stop giving bad advice.

the fact that the car still had 245 series rubber and no suspention work probably didnt help, and if I rolled into the throttle, it it was fine, just mashing it from a 5 mph roll and powershifting second it would spin straight through second however with the crap goodyears

You don't know what that car had... I've driven cars with FI and 4.10's... 9 times out of 10, you will actually go faster with a 3.73 then a 4.10 if you're running a lot of power on these cars - as you get more traction and you stay in the power band more getting more of your peak hp to the floor. That's the bottom line with this. If you have a built up block that is going to spin to 7000+rpms and is a track car, then by all means. The 4.10 is to steep for 95% of the cars on this website with FI. Unless you're running a blower that is putting out 350rwhp.

to each thier own opinion

i know the car had a vortech, exhaust, 4.10s, STS, TB/plentum, im going to assume it had the nessisary upgrades to the fuel system and some aftermarket clutch
