Default mods for 97 GT?

I just bought a 97 GT. I wanna make the car faster, but im not sure where to start.

I drive on the highway everyday. Should i go with 3:73 gears?

I want a LOUD exhaust. any tips on what i should go with?

Any tips on where i should start would be greatly appreciated.

yea, i totally agree with the P.I. heads, but just remember don't be a n00b and order every thing you see in the magazines and try and bolt it onto your car. Quality is def. better than quantity. Also think about what your going to do with the car, is it an everyday driver, do you take it on road trips(3.73's?) do you need it to be reliable or a pain in the butt. Writting down a game plan is a great way to plan a build.

and if you want a loud exhaust...go with longtube headers, and off road mid pipe, and either slp, basani, or borla exhaust?
