Auto trans shifter

Hello, I'm new to the forum, Ijust bought a 2000 mustang gt that has set about 6 months. My question is How do I loosen up the auto trans shifter Is there a place to oil or greese the auto trans shifter? lenny

The shifter is hard to slide into position it loosens up a bit when driven then tightnes up again. the car sat for 6 months in damp area..Lenny
