I worked at a gm dealer ship a couple years back. I got to detail a 02 vette with an auto that came in on trade. one of the sales men took me for a ride in it. he tried to burn out with it(with out power braking) with traction control off, this car just hooked and left. It was pretty fast. I think the vette would win.

DId everyone miss my post or something? I can post a pic of me with the car to prove I'm not BSing here. I Know you guys can run faster then 14.6 Soooo, just imagine you were next to him that night during those 12 runs, and that should answer this damn topic all together! Not trying to be a wise ***, but I actually have REAL PROOF and expreience, not just a bunch of E-Thug arguing (Original post on page 2)

I would give you hope. My buddy had a 04 Vette back in '04 before we made it amphibious because of the high payment ( >8) ). I don't know if it was the 2.73 gears they put in the autos or the fact that it was a lemon, or the fact that he sucked at driving (couldnt have done too poorly, just point and shoot with those), but his fastest time at Firebird in AZ (like 1,200 ft?) was 14.6 . We tried to air down the meats, traction control on, trac off, stall launch, no stall, and still no better then 14-mids. Very dissapointing, and a contributing factor in its new life as a submarine. Give him hell.

Im not saying that all of them are.........I'm simply stating the fact THAT IT CAN BE DONE. Period F-ing dot. But the focus around here seems to be "No way in hell! LS-1s are godly super machines that John Force coundlt F-With!". I just dont see how the topic can keep going back to the fatal point of "You'll lose, dont try it" when IT CAN BE DONE.

Well sure any car can suffer from a bad driver, but we are not comparing drivers here are we? When a purely hypothetical question like this is asked then one must assume equal drivers, otherwise the comparison is pointless. Of course LS1's can be beaten, it's not even that hard, but people here are just being truth full. Sorry to break it to you but in stock form an LS1 car is faster than a 99-04 GT

true story but a 99-04 gt with intake full exhaust and gears could keep up with one my car did 261rwhp and304rwtq and ive beaten them b4. but i also have alot of suspention work done if u can get off the line faster and have a decent amount of mods u could win. but they are extremly fast cars even stock i ve seen stock ls1s run 12.8 and the best ive heard a stock gt is about 13.9
