Default New Exhaust w/ Flowmaster 40's

I already have Flowmaster 40's on my Mustang GT and I want to get more out of the exhaust for loudness and horsepower. Can anyone suggest a good combo to put with these mufflers and maybe a rough estimate on the cost? Thanks

what you need next is a good mid-pipe. you can either get an x or an h pipe....you will get the best sound and hp gains if the pipe is o/r...meaning off road/no cats. check brenspeed.com and look at their mid-pipes they have good prices and free shipping....im ordering my o/r h pipe from them dec. 5th...7 days!! woohoo!!

I've heard people saying O/R H pipes and Prochambers sound very nice with 40 series. I'm not sure on prices. I think it'll range from 150-350 depending on brand and whatnot.

Okay, im looking at brenspeed.com and ive found what your talking about. I dont know too much about exhaust, but you think the best grab would be grabbing an O/R X Pipe and then grabbing the Off Road Pro Chamber? Or do they not fit each other - sorry if its a dumb question

Okay then, I see that brands have alot different prices. BBK makes O/R Shorty crossover pips for 180, and magnaflow makes tru-x pipe w/ cats or race pipes for about 400-500... whats a good brand that i should get for my mid pipe thats under 500?

its up to you on if you want an h or an x pipe...usually an h is a little cheaper but the x pipe makes like 2hp more....as long as they dont have cats they are going to be fairly cheap...around 200 or less.....for example, im ordering the mac o/r h pipe....its only $150 with shipping...it will add some horses and its going to sound GREAT with my flowmasters!! will really make her scream!! the stang that is..

You also need to look at whether or not you need/want your system to be stainless steal.
