Bassani Mid-Lengths for 4.6 2V

I just installed the Bassani Mid-Lengths on my 01 Roush.....perfect fit, really works well with the SLP 'X-Pipe' I installed several months ago. The Mid-lenghts really smoothed out the exhaust note on my Roush...it was very raspy after installing the X-pipe due to the fact that Roush tunes their exhaust mufflers for the factory 'H' pipe. With the combination of X-pipe and headers now it really sounds nice, and pulls like a farm tractor in the higher rpm's. I would reccomend this combination to anyone looking for hp and torque gain from 2500 rpm's and up.

Proof that even mid length and shorties are a worthwhile investment...

Please tell me you are kidding about the shorties? Those things are no better than the stock manifolds. LOL

Blah, anything is better than manifolds.

Not to mention an everday Joe can install them in his garage without a ton of work. I'd recomment shorties to anyone.

Ultimately, mid length & long tubes are better. Unfortunetly, not everyone has the cash or the experience to perform such a mod.

I understand that long pipes require more work to install, but how much more work? Do you need to modify any other components for the long pipes to fit? What is really required in time and extra parts to install them?
As an example: I have a stock '04 GT vert and want to install long pipes this winter, then I'd get the H-pipe and Magna Flow cat backs... what am I in for with the 4.6?

Engine needs to be lifted & K-member needs to come out.

If you have the cash or patience, go long tubes. If you are short on cash, go with shorties or mid lengths and spend the left over cash on another mod.

The engine doesnt necessarly have to be lifted unless you fell its easier that way. The shop I did mine at just pulled the K member and they sled in nicely and in a timely fashion.

Really, I was always under the impression it had to be lifted some. Good to know!

Nope, not at all. If it makes it easier for you then go for it. The K member will come out in about 45 minutes if you have done it enough times. We had mine lifted and the engine was never touched.
