Default Header clearance on '96 GT

Just wondering if I'll run into any trouble fitting up long tube headers in my '96 GT? In general, how tough is it installing headers...it seems to me that the starter will have to come out and the steering column put out of the way to access the exhaust manifold bolts. Let me know what you think...Thanks!

Just wait till you try to get them around the K member! LOL Thats the only way I could get mine in. The race shop took it all down.

Oh man, so not too fun, eh? Shorty headers would probably make for a much easier install, no? Is there really that big of an advantage with long tubes over shorty headers? Also, what would you recommend being better, Equal or Un Equal...

Do not waste your time on shortie headers. The only person here that supports those things is Dan02GT. They are the biggest waste of time.

Anything over manifolds is better.

Shorties can be picked up for 200-250, installed in hours without much work.

They are better than nothing....

Again......

A) Shorties are legal (LT's are not here)
B) Can't afford $500 install fee for LT's
