Default Brighter Lights

As of now my headlights completely suck. They reach about 20 feet in front of my Mustang but have a very dim and yellow light. I would like some lights with much further range and a bright, whiteish light. I am thinking of going 4300k HID lights from stangmods.com. Is this my best choice? I do not have money for headlamps too (unless the bulbs are very cheap).

Silverstar Ultra's give off a very nice white light.
My neighbour just put a set in his truck and it's like night and day.

Cheap to buy too versus true HID setup.
Not sure about longevity though. I have heard regular Silvertars burn out faster than regular bulbs.

I put a set of Silverstars in my wife's Honda. They are great but I have had to change them every 6 months.

How do silverstars compare to HIDs?

HIDs will be much brighter and reach farther. If you want really good vision go with the HIDs. Also how clean are your headlights--inside and outside? Try wetsanding the outside and cleaning the inside and see if that helps out a little.

EDIT: One other thing, Im pretty sure if you go with HIDs you will no longer have a dim/bright function. It will be the same light at all times.

if you've got water in there, you have a leak in a seal somewhere.

I'm going to be getting some silverstar ultras as well. The diff. between reg silverstars and the ultras is supposed to be longevity of the bulb.

Do I need new headlamps if I go HID or can I use the stock ones?

you can use reg headlamps but you should aim them down a bit as the reg headlamps scatter the hid beams a bit, if your looking for hid's and a new headlamp go talk to matt at stangmods. i have his 6000k bixenon and foglight hid kit on smoked clear corners, might be buying projectors later on but not certain
