Default should i put a cam in my 96gt?

I have 97k miles on my 96 gt and i would like to put a cam in. I'm just not sure if everything will last and run good with that many miles if i do put it in or if i'll end up replacing pistons and end up rebuilding it all. so if someone could let me know if its all good to put it in or not that would be great.

Well if she is still running strong I would go ahead and do it. However, it would be sorta weird if you did that much work to put in a cam and didn't PI swap the thing. Even if you leave the NPI heads I would throw in a PI cam or better along with a PI intake manifold. You'll see some pretty nice gains from that, plus it wouldn't even be that expensive if you did the work yourself. In fact it would be dirt cheap if you found a used PI manifold and cams.

I say do it.

you should put in 2

also you should think about a PI intake (99-04) they flow much better then the stock 96-98 intake.
