differential question
every now and then im hard on my car and turn acouple of doughnuts and have noticed that when i spin them to the left my car goes arounds easy but when i try to cut one to the right the inside rear roasts but nothing really happens to the left tire. If i leave hard from the line both tires will spin but only when i try to turn does the left rear not wanna spin. is there just a dominant wheel or is my diff gone bad??

RE: differential question
well the torque from your engine is going to take the path of least resistance (which in your case seems to be your right wheel)...but if you experience a lot of difficulty with this then you may have fried the clutchs in your differential, dunno if there are rebuilds, so if u feel its serious u may just need to get a new one

RE: differential question
Youve fried the clutch packs in the differential. I did the same thing. Its ok to drive on it for now, but it wont do as well in the corners. Try doing a burnout and see if you get 2 black strips or just one. I bet you get just one like me. Im just going the 31 spline route...

RE: differential question
31 spline is nice, but I'm buying a house right now.
Anyway, I think your problem is simple. You have a limited slip diff. If you take off straight and still get two lines, then your diff is probably good. It's supposed to slip in turns and such. Due to weight distribution, you may get more spin one direction than another.
I'm not saying that your diff is good with any certainty, but I think it probably is.
MM&FF January issue page 182 has a good explanation about different types of diffs and how they work. Good reading.
