i found another 2000 gt who wants to switch from manual to auto, so we're goin to trade transmissions. its going to be a straight trade except ill have to get a new clutch and flywheel because he doesnt want to give up his aftermarket clutch and flywheel. dynospeed racing is handling the swap. the total cost for the swap and parts comes out to be $600 with tax. im excited to be driving a manual again now i just have to relearn everything since i havent driven stick in so long [&:].

Any particular reason why he wanted to keep his clutch and flywheel? What does he need it for? I wonder why he wanted to go to an auto...

i asked him why he would want to keep it, he said that he paid a lot of money for it and would just sell it on ebay. he said he wanted to go auto because he wants to have more consistent 1/4 times. doesnt really matter to me why he wants it, i know i really want his manual .

I've been drive my 01 gt for about a month now and its a auto(i had a 5spd in my 95 gt).And as of right now i'm not real fond of it.I'd love more info on the auto to 5spd swap.

I've been driving manual for so long now that I often consider swapping to auto, I live in SoCal and traffic to and from work is a mother ****er. Stang is my DD.

With a big stall he will not only be more consistant but faster as well. Thats why I switched my SS from a 6 speed to an auto. I went from low 12's (12.20's on average) to 11.8's on average.

i dont understand why people dont like auto... i think its more fun cause you dont have to do anything... just step on it and your gone... and like JD said stall, cooler,shift kit, and some 4:10 gears a stick shift could not keep up to that... auto is the way to go if you want to win races... but if you just want to have fun with your exhaust then yeah i guess stick is kool too... im not knockin stick i just dont like how everyone dogs us with autos...
