RE: Oil testing
Since I run extended drain intervals, I sample my oil routinely and have it analyzed. It's a very good idea.

RE: Oil testing
Yeah, I think I will do this at least twice a year. I think it`s well worth it for the cost.

RE: Oil testing
What is the cost of having it tested?

RE: Oil testing
I copied and pasted this from their website...........Blackstone's standard analysis will tell you what you need to know about the condition of your engine and how it's wearing. The standard analysis costs $20 and includes the following:
Spectral Exam: Establishes the levels of wear metals, silicon, and additives present in the oil. Also checks for coolant. Viscosity: Determines the grade of oil. Insolubles: Quantifies the percentage of solids present in the oil. Flash Point: Determines the flash point of the oil. We use the flash point to determine whether any contamination is present in the oil (determined when the flash is lower than the "should be" range). |
RE: Oil testing
Thanks, I couldnt find that on the Website....Im ganna have to do that when I change my oil here soon.

RE: Oil testing
They send you the collector kit for free. I just ordered mine. It takes 2-3 weeks to get it. Then you send them the $20 when you send in the oil.
