Maybe if you get a lot of excess wheel hop because of crappy suspension... Other than that, the rear should be just fine... Well, within reason... Just don't launch the thing every time you take off..

+1 I pretty much only use my drs on the street they work great! and have not had any problems..

I have had both the Nittos and the BFG's.. I did not like the Nittos very well. they did pretty good on the street but I was not impressed at the track. the Nittos were 285/35/17's.. my BFG's hook like crazy and they are on a bigger wheel and not as wide.. 265/40/18.. You will get better milage out of the Nittos but if you want pure traction I would go with MT's those seem to be the ticket.. On a side note Drs dont seem to handle as well they kind of have a wobble to them[&:] (soft side wall)

If you want more of a track tire go with M/T or BFG. I have heard not to go with the Nittos if you want more of a track tire.

This is VERY TRUE...........In the LS1 DEPARTMENT.

The rear end in a LS1 is very weak. It's more common with M6 LS1, but Autos blow them out as well. The rear end in a LS1 is the same as a Chevy S-10 Pick up.

If you have a stock GT, than you have 17x9" rims. My 3 choices would be:

Mickey Thompsons
Nittos
BFG Goodrich

The MT's are the best DR's available to me, and you can either get 245/45/17, or 275/40/17's. That is totally up to you.
I musta got screwed, cause my GT came with 17x8" rims...[:-]
