I would go with nitto 555r's they will last longer mileage wise than the bfg dr and it will be more than enough for a near stock 4.6

it depends on what you are looking for. if you want the best traction then mickey thompson. long tread life then Nitto 555rs. something in-between then BFG g force

daily driving tire is 555r. track is the M/Ts. 275/40/17 would give a good contact patch but a 245 wouldnt do to bad either.

If you have a stock GT, than you have 17x9" rims. My 3 choices would be:

Mickey Thompsons
Nittos
BFG Goodrich

The MT's are the best DR's available to me, and you can either get 245/45/17, or 275/40/17's. That is totally up to you.

I just ordered some Nitto 555's ( 315/35R17 ) and some 17x10.5" rims. I'll let you know how they work at the track next friday =)

+1

My nittos are keeping up (at least ok) with 400+ WHP on tap. Unless your plan is to visit the strip every weekend but not put many miles on the car, the longer lasting nittos are the best choice.

I would love to run BFGs/MTs, but I don't feel like swapping out tires every 6000/3000 miles.

BTW, my nittos also perform fairly well in the rain.

Edit: Stock mustangs come with a 17x8 rim I beileve, not a 17x9
