Default Clutch Guru's Respond Please

I don't think I have a clutch problem. I think I have a clutch cable problem. When the clutch is engaged, no probs. It holds tight with no weird noises or any slippage. My problem is, when I go to disengage the clutch, it feels like it isn't disengaging all the way. When I push the clutch pedal to the floor, I feel like I need about another 2 inches before the clutch full disengages and I have a hard time shifting quickly without a little grind. Anyone have any ideas?

Either tranny fluid, tob, clutch cable ( trying buying a new one). One way to tell if your clutch does need some adjustment is,to take your index finger and middle finger. Push down on the clutch pedal should be about 1/4 -1/2" of play. If theirs less or more needs adjustment.

I guess maybe I'm not making sence. Let me try agian.

Through out bearing, bah, mines fine. When I push the clutch pedal to the florr, all I have to do is lift about 1 inch and the clutch engages. Bad clutch? I doubt it because it holds strong. It's got to be the clutch cabel, right?

tranny's are soo odd. I had a problem with grinding into 5th. To come and find out tob was bad. Auto adjuster was broken. Clutch cable was shot. Get my car back still grinds. I was low on tranny fluid...mechanic who was suppose to put some in didnt (different guy who installed clutch). Then a guy who installed my new tob, cable and more tranny fluid (really good shop, just overall good service and work) . Worked fine, after letting the tranny fluid settle. I would just replace the cable and change tranny fluid. Do all the small cheaper stuff. Good luck.
