Default fuel injectors ???

i have stock fuel injectors on a 96 gt and am looking at upgrading mine to bigger ones but i'm not sure which to get. right now i'm thinking of 24# injectors. in about three months i am going to get my heads redone with brand new cams and everything. will these injectors work good with my new heads or will it be better to get bigger. if bigger, then what size?

See if you need them first, you can't just pick out a size injector and think it will work. I have 42's in my car, and its the minimum I would go. Plus you will need a stronget fp and a new tune.

i think i need bigger ones with all the basic bolt-ons i've got. thats why i'm wondering what size anyone would recomend as the best for what i've got already(keeping in mind that i will soon get my heads completly redone). when you get a bigger fp the usually sell them according to the fuel injector size, right? furthemore i'm going to get the sniper inc. special forces flash programmer soon too. im also thinkin about underdrive pullies but not sure yet.

I would go SCT or Diablo, proven winners on this site. And no, fuel pumps and injectors are separate. I would tune and see if you need then, inj and pump are about 500-600 bucks.

You can find Bosch 21# and that should be enough. There are folks on here making 300+ rwhp and only using 24#. You probably don't need anything more than you have now. What size did '96 come with?

Don't forget that the maf has to be tuned for the injector size.

why would you go with the sct or diablo. the only thing i could do with the diablo is get a chip cause they dont sell flash programmers for my year which i'd have to have reprogrammed everytime i get new stuff. wouldnt it be good to have a program with you computer that you could hook up to your car and adjust how you want and save what you like best. plus you can download other peoples off the internet using the sniper program that have been tuned for the best performance. when you say tune do you mean go to some shop and have it dynoed. if yes, what kind of place does that kind of stuff. thanks for the replies.

I am out of here, but real quick. How can you tune your without getting results back? I run my car on the a dyno, tune it, then I am on my way. Why would I change my tune once it is set? Most bolt ons don't even need a tune.

Because he is running a KB.

The original poster does not need anything but the stockers at this point. Even assuming you do a full PI swap with ported heads, aftermarket cams, etc etc, so long as have the stock rotating assembly in place you will not need anything past the stockers.

42s would be insanely overkill in his car.
