just started a few mins ago, on take off slight rough shaking coming from the rear, when i go to make a turn then its a loud rubbing noise kinda like a grind. i know its from the back but thats all i can tell. nothing looks bad or loose. any ideas?

Does it make the noise at higher speeds around corners under acceleration? Can you still leave posi strips? I had the same symptoms you describe, grinding and such. My diff is on its way out. Had metal pieces in the diff fluid. A simple fluid change made the noise go away completely though. I'd definitely try changing the fluid. While you're at it, get a diff cover with a fill and drain plug, makes the job easier in the future.

+1 mine makes some noise too, i replaced the fluid and it went away and i had a small amout of metal shavings in the rear end. im replacing everything back there this christmas tho so im still running the heck out of it.

make sure your fluid didn't leak out.

well i hit a whole in the road last night and its just a loud noise that sounds like something is going to break. i had my rearend rebuilt about 10000 miles ago.

drove it to work today about 8 miles and it drove great and no noise at all..... weird.. any ideas of something to check
