I just bought a 2000 gt and the owners manual was not in it, i assumed it was the same amount as my 98 gt but when i grained the oil out of the car it was less than qts can any one tell me if it is 6qts for the 2000 gt thanks.

I put five in which is what mine calls for and then I check the dip see were its at if it looks good start it and then check it again and add accordingly but it wont be more than 6 qts unless you have a custom oil pan

I put 5 1/2 which I think was a little too much.

I don't see why these would change from year to year, but my 04 owners manual says 6 qts and It usually takes me a tad more than that to get the level to exactly the middle of the checkered mark of the dipstick.

My 04 calls for 6 as well. It takes almost 6.5 to get it to the full mark.

Weird, 6.5 seems like alot but if thats what the manual calls for I would do that.

thats why you measure the stick thats the only thing that will be accurate to how much the motor needs it def is an interesting situation though
