Does CEL turn off after fix?

After fixing something that set the check engine light off, does the CEL turn off or do you have to turn it off with one of the computer things?

you can undo battery terminals for a few 1 min or 2 and then put it back in it will reset that way and yes it should go off after you do that and it will stay off if fixed you could also do it through tuner

I replaced the camshaft positioning sensor like it said and let it run for about 30 seconds. It didn't turn off. What should I do?

disconnect battery for a few mins and then hook it back up try that

Yes I believe that after the CEL is tripped it will still stay on even if the problem is fixed. Just reset the ECU by unhooking the battery for a few minutes.
