Default Wierd smell after Clutch install??

After installing my clutch Saturday i am getting a horrible smell inside the car. It smells like air that has been in a tire, or a shrimp smell. It has changed a little since sat. It will start to smell about 3-4 min. after normal driving. I did drain the tranny and refill it through the shifter. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Has anyone else had this problem.?? I hope it is just the clutch breaking in. What do u guys think??

You should not be getting a bad smell from a new clutch.

Are you sure your not burning the clutch off?

I am driving very conservatively i cant see why it would be burning. I only have to push the clutch in about 2 inches for it to engage though.

Could it be from the clutch cable being too tight??

If the cable is WAY too tight the clutch could be premanently touching and causing it to be constantly burning while driving.

I believe you will have to adjust it down at the point where the cable connects to the clutch fork, I'm not 100% sure bc I never messed with mine when it was stock. I have an adjustable cable, steeda quadrant, and firewall adjuster.

Do you know if you have to pull the tranny to install a new adjustable cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster? I really want to avoid taking the tranny out again. It is not the easiest task from the driveway!!!

No you don't have to pull out the tranny to install these....however your clutch might be ****ed up already. I'd wait for someone else to chime in aswell and see if they think that would be the cause. WHat kind of clutch did you install???
