lowering spring installation

RE: lowering spring installation
Front you can do in the driveway. DO NOT buy a spring compressor they are absolute junk. I have installed 5 sets of lowering springs and never once used one.

Yeah, it has shocks on the back. The shocks have to be loosened from the bottom, not sure about the quad shock, but if so thats no big deal either. The lower control arms need to be dropped and the best i can remember its easier to take the sway bar off. Just put it on jackstands first, then place the jack under the rear end to keep pressure on it while you undo everything. After the shocks, lower control arms and sway bar are off, just ease the car rear end down and the pressure will let off the springs and the rear end should lower enough to pull the springs out. After that, it's reverse of taking it out. Make sure you have them in the notches for the very end of the spring.
The front is a little more difficult. Jack the car up, put on jack stands, and remove the tires from the car. Go ahead and take the brake calipers off and there is a bolt on the front sway bar that will allow you to drop that out of the way. Use the jack to keep pressure on one control arm at a time. You then loosen bolt preferably with an impact on the caster camber plates from under the hood. After the bolt is removed, let the pressure off and this should allow you to drop the control arm completely. The stock spring is pretty long and be careful when removing it, but it shouldn't just fly out, but it does have quite a bit of pressure on it. I've always just took a pry bar and lifted the bottom of the spring and it will come out. Makes a loud noise so expect it. Then install your new shorter spring and again make sure the notches line up. Do both sides and put it back together in reverse order. I"m trying to remember all the small stuff but that's the major points so anyone else feel free to add it if i forgot something. Once you get that far into it, its easy to tell what will have to move or be taken off to get the springs in. Good luck
