Default Storing your GT.......

How many of you store it for the winter?
Do you just leave stored until spring?
Do you do anything to it in the meantime?
How do you store it?

It is the time where mine won`t see the outdoors that much for a while. I have it stored in my heated garage with a vinyl mat under it to keep moisture from getting to it. I usually start it up every week and let it run for around 1/2 hour or untill its up to temp. I also keep the gas tank full. I do take it out on nice days when the roads are clean which isn`t too often. It pretty much sucks that this is the time of the year that I have to look at it more than enjoy driving it. The only good thing is, this is a good time to do mods while it pretty much sits. Hows about the rest of you? What do you do? Just curious.

completely wash the car

do an oil/filter change

fill up the gas tank

get a breathable car cover

get some foam pads to park on (dont use jack stands)

get a battery tender

dont start it unless you plan on actually driving it for atleast 20 miles

Bad move dude. You can get alot of moisture in your gas tank leaving it pretty much empty over the winter which will cause problems. The gas will be fine for a while, especially over the winter. If your worried about it, add some sta-bil to it.

Well i just got the stang like a month ago but i did keep my last car in the garage for the winter. I did drive it though on days that it was nice and it seems lately in pittsburgh there are alot of nice days during the winter so theres really no need to go all out on the storage cause the car will be brought out from time to time. The stang has been sitting for the last 4days but its probaly pretty much done until we get some nice days again.

I park my car in a garage on plywood and plastic to block out moisture, I have about a quarter tank of gas qith sta-bil in it and my battery is disconnected from the car but on a trickle charger. Also its a good idea to change your oil and filter in the spring before you start it cause all the moisture that gathers in the engine will be drained out. Just the way I do it...
