Default Quick Xcal2 Question

I just ordered the Xcal 2 from Americanmuscle.com... They have you fill in a form asking a bunch of questions because I guess they put a tune into the tuner for you?

Anyway, my question is... If they send the Xcal2 with the tune on it, I have to "select" to use that tune correct? For instance what I am trying to say is that when I get the tuner and plug it in, the tuner is not going to start changing the tune of the car automatically correct? I would have to "select" to use the tune that came with it?

Reason why I am asking is because I don't want to actually "tune" the car YET... I just need to turn of the CEL for the immediate time being.

Thanks guys.

If it is a reoccurring CEL yes you will have to run the tune (for a rear o2 delete or egr delete). It has an option to read and clear DTCs if that is all you want to do without programing it. And no, you have to select the tune you want and set all of the variables before it will ask you to install the tune.

you don't have to select all the variables, thats an option on the screen though.

Ok thats all I wanted to know... It HAS to ask me if I want to install a specific tune first? It's not just going to DO IT as soon as I plug it into the OBD?
