Default Randomly Stalling and Revving

My car randomly stalled the other day. I turned it on and my Check Engine Light was one. It gave me the code "P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction." I replaced this with an Autozone part which I was advised against after I had already done it. My car is still randomly stalling and giving this code. I have tried the IAC cleaning and that didn't work.

What could be the problem? Do you think that if I replace the sensor with an OEM part it would work better? This is sort of pissing me off now because my car randomly dies and randomly revs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, my speedometer sensor has died. I am replacing that tomorow also. I don't know if this could help at all.

Thanks

mmmm sounds like you might need somone to take a look at your cams/ re adjust the timing point or something.

personally i would take it to a shop.

anyone else have any idea? I want to avoid bringing it to a show because I don't have the cash to pay the ford dealership $85/hour for labor.

If it's the timing...maybe you can find a buddy who's good with it. Theres alot of people out there.

Or you could do it yourself.

-Timing Gun
-Torque Wrench
-Marker
-TDC Specs.
-LOTS OF MAN POWER

I've reset the timing several times on my dad's Shelby Cobra. But thats a different story...

it may be something else that is causing it to die and stall like the IAC

Also, why would my timing make my sensor malfunction?
