on the subject of trannies, do t-5's and t-45s and 3650's have different gear ratios?

Yes, but not massive.. 5th in all 3 is going to be a .6x.. the 3650 is a little lower than the 45's .67 I believe. I havent owned one though and really havent looked at them much..

ic , jw cuz my friends 94 has 3.73's and mine with 4.10 does about the same speed/rpm as his which confused me. his has been built tho so there is reason i suppose.

Nein, you are comparing the tranny to a rear end.

but hey our two friends just race on the highway - and his STOCK GT - not power shifting beat my boys WS6... strange huh?

but from a dig he got destroyed... ls1's are not as fast as the internet makes them out to be... but they are much faster than us GT's stock for stock..... but thats not to say you cant beat one.... the biggest factor in the race about was auto vs 5 spd... still very strange tho

the 3650 has a .64 overdrive while the 45 has a .68 I beileve.

I was taching nearly exactly the same RPM @ 70MPH with 3.73s and the 45 as people on this forum do with a 3650 and 4.10s.

To the orignal poster: A PI Swap and some aftermarket cams should get it done from a stop. Assuming that he is an auto car you can whomp on him pretty hard from a roll too with this setup. A 6spd car from a roll would be a little closer.

Either that, or just race him to the bottom of a very large, very steep hill with alot of twisting roads. While he goes down the road, just drive off the cliff. You will pull on that LS1 all the way to the bottom for sure
