Default Suspension Mods For Street Car

Alright guys, I've got a few questions here. Christmas is coming up, and my list is narrowing itself down. For my application, which would be a mildly upgraded DD that never sees the track, but likes to mess around on the streets, what suspension mods, if any, will really make a difference? Im planning on some lowering springs, subframes, and i've heard alot of good about upper/lower control arms. But... will they really help keep me straight on the streets with near stock power levels? If i decide on 4.10s, I'm sure the C/As would be much more beneficial, as well as a nice set of DR's for the rear. So, should I wait for gears to do c/a's? Also, im not sure on the spring I want. I've heard alot of good about the Pro Kit, but if anybody has Ford C Springs and wishes to chime in, please do. Thanks.

It sounds like you are in pretty much the EXACT boat I am in. I've been debating whether to do suspension or gears/tuner first for quite a while. I am also debating between the pro kit and the Ford C springs, though I think with the price of the C springs they are winning out. I've seen lots of pics of them on cars and they all look good.

When I do the suspension, I plan on non-adjustable c/a's, subframes, new shocks/struts (Unsure of brand yet), and probably C springs. From what I've read the setup should do just fine on a street car.

Well since you said u wont be racing at the strip well then u dont the greatest suspension IMO. 98% of all street races are from a roll, having a killer drag suspension will help but not as much as gears or n2o. When racing from a roll its all about power on demand. As opposed to the strip where a good suspension can shave seconds off ur time with a proper launch.

Rember, you can make 1000 horsepower but if you cant put it to the ground well then all u have is a really cool smoke show.

Suspension is big, if ur really looking to get people in street racing then get some Gears, nice set of DR's and shocks. Look at the n/a 12 stickey code made. If i rember correclty he has a lot of suspension info on there.

get some inexpensive control arms like blue oval industries ones (thats what I am gonna be running, sitting in the garage now) and maybe a set of shocks/struts that are adjustable.

I cannot see spending alot of cash on a street only car for suspension. You only have so much traction avalible on the street with a tire that can be DD.

EDIT: if your gonna choose between some suspension work or a set of gears and a tuner, I would DEFINATLY go with the gears/tuner. No questions asked, it will give a better performance gain.
