Default Heads cam intake? Tuning?

I am about to buy a 99 GT with a stroker kit, heads, cam, intake etc. The guy said he just got this stuff done, and it only has a few hundred miles on it. He hasnt dyno tuned it yet. He has been using his SCT handheld to tide him over until spring(he planned on storing it for the winter). I know the handheld is not the best idea, but is it harmful? Can i drive it 300 miles home? I will get it tuned for sure, just dont know how soon it needs to be done. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Well if the car runs decent at all then by all means you should be able to make the drive back home. Yes it needs to be tuned to be fine-tuned and work to optimal performance, but as long as the engine runs decent right now, theres no reason you cant drive it normal to your destination at very least.

HE says it runs great. He says he pulls plug frequently to make sure its not running excessively lean.
Its got P&P intake, stage 3 heads, and A nice cam. I just didnt know. I may trailor it home anyway.

Drive it around the the block. Listen to see if its detonating at all. If its REALLY cold outside the cars going to have even more of a chance of running lean and detonating. Might as well be on the safe side and trailer it but if he's driving it around you shouldnt have any problems.
