Get a short shift.[:D]

In one of the cupholders, there is this rubber insert that allows both cupholders to be able to securely hold soda cans. You might be missing that rubber thingie thing.

I can't take claim of it, found it on another forum.

Most people don't even know who that is.

^^^ Lol that pic is the wallpaper on my comp. I've gotten used to shifting with a bottle of water right under 4th gear, and its pretty casual now lol. Cobrastang, us high schoolers are plagued with the task of how to safely transport lunch time beverages. I'm proud to say that I've never spilled.

A short shift will help, but you have to find the insert for the monster cup holder that makes it hold normal sized cups. If you get that, you can put a cup there and shift with minimal problems. If you have to use the foremost cup holder, if you have a short shifter just use your wrist to throw it into gear. That's what I do, but I rarely have drinks in my car. And no matter where they are, on a turn you have to rest your arm on the tops so they don't spill over. Luckily I didn't have to learn that the hard way.

You know, I apparently have the somewhat rare flip out cup holder that's in the center console. At first I thought it was annoying while shifting but now I realize that it's not bad at all compared to the other design.

Either way, if you want a really simple solution, just go to walmart and get some of those cupholders that you can stick in your door window and you're done. Otherwise don't bring open drinks in your car.

I don't drink anything other than water, skim milk, and alcohol....so when I'm in the car the only thing I ever have is maybe a bottled water. Therefore, I am able to just throw it in the passenger seat.

It's good to know I'm not the only one with this problem. Next you'll be asking how to not spill the bong water while street racing.
