i have an '03 GT with mach audio. how do i tell if i have the 460 or 1000 system? i know i have a speaker on the top of each door, and what looks like two amps in the back of the truck. there's not a lot of bass, but it's definately loud.

If it says Mach 460 on those little speakers above the doors and all the rest of the speakers, its a mach 460. A mach 1000 has 4 amps on a rack and 2 subs in the trunk that says MACH 1000 on it. You would def know if you had the 1000.

Another question on topic: how many cars have the mach 1000? Did you have to request it from the factory if you wanted it to be upgraded, or did they install them on a few cars already? If you had to ask, how much was the upgrade back then?

Mach 1000 is extremly hard to find, I tried my hardest to get one with that system but i just couldnt find one. They also stopped putting mach 460 on the little speakers after 2001, they just say mach now.

I have a mach 1000 in mine and heres how u tell. If u cant put sh*t in your truck because of the 2 10inch subs in the trunk, with a rack of 4 amps that are sitting on an amp rack in the front of the trunk that says mach 1000 acrossed it. LOL, trust me if you had one youd know, sounds to me like u got the 360. I can tell u though that the 1000 is loud as hell. I only have the bass a little higher than half way up and it still hits hard.

I gotta hand it to Ford though. Even though it takes up space its pretty sick to see a factory tucked away option like that. Monsoon 500 suck on THAT!

i have a sub/amp wired into my stock mach460, sounds great. decent bass with the decent mids/highs of the 460.
