Gears
#11
Thanks roundman for the 101 lessons in gears. Looks like I still have the stock 2.73's. I hear scrubbing sounds when making slow left or right turns so this is all the more reason to bite the bullet and get 3.73's or 3.90's installed soon. Anybody in the Metro Atlanta area know where I can go to get them done inexpensively? I plan to order the motive gears from Mustangtuning.com. Oh and 2000Silver, I'm not sure if it is this forum or Stan*net.com's forum, but someone posted a chart of the axle codes on the door panel sticker on all mustang. Do a search on gears on both forums and you should come up with it. Just to list a few of the common ones are..
axle code:
A7 ------------------ 3.07
E, 5, 34 ---------------- 3.27
M, 8, ------------------ 2.73
Y, Z, ------------------- 3.08
axle code:
