Hah! I knew 2000GT4.6 was going to chime in and say that!!!

He's right though, just save up and go with the mongoose.
Yeah, I hate to sound like I am just constantly pushing MPH's mongoose kit.

But damm, it's just such a deal, with a great company, and a great tune.

I have bought plenty of other performance parts for the car and simply never felt the same way about any of the other stuff/companys I have gotten stuff from. Even with MPH like 12-14 hours away from me, when I put the shortblock in I will be driving to georgia to get their tune.

I went from getting treated like shizz at the local shops to having a company 12+ hours away treating me like their only customer (and I am FAR from it). I guess maybe that spoiled me a bit, but damm is it a nice feeling.

I bought a used vortech kit. I had to buy a bunch more parts for it but it has been awesome! Its not intercooled yet and I cant wait to see what its like with an intercooler. Ive had it on there for about 2 months now. I shredded a belt last night though. Kinda sucks that you have to remove the headunit to get a new belt on, but I guess all the centri kits are like that. Thats whay I would have rather gone with a KB.

Without having a dyno or custom tune after adding the mongoose kit to a full bolt on car would you be making max power? I'm assuming the tune that comes with the kit is for a stock car. Is that right?

Actually, with the right suspension and tires and driving...it could run 11s. Look at the link 2000gt4.6 posted, that guy has 40xRWHP and ran an 11.4.

Yeah... thats on full slicks suspension and MD has a lot of other mods done. Also a really good driver in good air. He's had like a million passes with that car. The fact is you're going to need a lot more than a supercharger to run 11's.
You definatly won't run that on a stock car with a vortech.

However, you can definatly run high 11s with just boltons + cams + blower. MD didn't have that many passes before he went to slicks, and pulled out a 11.9x. He was/is a good driver though.

I would think even a moderalyi good driver with his limited suspension and 8.8 mods (seriously, i think he spend less than a grand) would be able to run at least 11.90s on slicks. (with the blower/cams/boltons).

also, I get about 21.5 MPG on the highway @ 70 MPH, and terrible mileage in town. I get terrible in town because I am always on the gas in town though

Yeah... slicks being the key; make a huge difference.

Even with minimal practice and drag radials it shouldn't be that hard to get at least a 11.99 with his setup. If he did it, anyone can.

With a KB 2.1, intercooled, would I be able to hit 7's in the 1/8 mile with just o/r h-pipe and flowmaster mufflers? Also, not to bright when it comes to S/C's, but with the KB, would I be able to use a JLT CAI and a 75mm t/b and plenum, or does the KB cancel them out?

I have no idea about the 1/8 mile stuff (not very familar with it) but you could expect high/mid 12s with that setup depending on boost level and tune, and tires.

You cannot use the plenum, but the throttle body and JLT should fit.

I could make an hour trip to the 1/4 mile, but that wouldnt happen very often. The 1/8 mile track is only a couple of miles away, and during season on Fridays I hear the drag racing, and on Saturdays I hear the dirt car racing. I knew I couldnt use 1 of those 3, just didnt know which one.

Not sure, but some of the Cobras here where I live run in the low 7's in the 1/8, but I dont think they are stock either, but I dont know how much power they are making. I think Stanggang ran like 13.6 in the 1/4 mile which was like an 8.6 in the 1/8, so I'm guessin low 8's to high 7's.
