Default Cams, stage 2, stock motor??

I'm looking to buy some new cams, I am trying to find out if I would be able to get a Stage 2 blower cam from vt and run it on my stock motor without a blower..(i will probably get a blower here within the next year or so..) Or could i even run a stage 3???? What all do you need to buy when buying cams? Springs, retrainers?,...

Thanks.

you can run stage 2 safely but honestly man you wont be able to get up in the proper rpm to really see the difference because of your stock bottom end. you can use your stock heads but you will need new springs. with the stage 2 cams you might have ptv issues. some do and some dont. unless your goin all out extreme a stage 1 or 2 would be fine.

hey i am going to run stage 1 vt cams and i plan on adding a vortech mongoose kit form Modular powerhouse. I would not go stage two unless you plan on seriously building your engine.

no you can run a stage 2 cam for a DD it will cost more and need more work and time, but in the long run its more worth it.

Why don't you just go ahead and start saving for a blower, then get all of that other stuff.

if i was in your position then i would save and build the bottom end first then go with the heads and cams, then save for the blower.....that way you can run maximum boost and wont effect the engine but that doesnt cover the tranny, driveshaft, and rearend that could be destroyed.

Bottom ends are SUPER expensive aren't they? haha but i know that'll basically change the way the motor is (power holding wise).....how much would a good forged bottom end be?
