Default NPI 4.6 Air/exhaustflow

Because im on a budget and I am in High School Im looking into doing a cam and intake swap. But ive thought about it and lets say that I get a PI intake,TB,plenum and MAF would all that not really do much with stock cams. Would I need to upgrade the cams to see any HP.

If i upgraded the cams should i put PI cams in or VT stage 1 cams?

PS:Im already aware that this motor doesnt respond well to mods

Cams are not worth the money on a stock engine. They are really only beneficial if you plan on FI or running some juice. I would say either go the PI route or keep it how it is and get an intake, tb, chip and call it a day.

So you wouldnt think that putting PI cams would be worth it with the combo of the PI Intake.

When i get out of HS im going to go FI...

PI cams would improve hp and trq but is not worth the effort and money. If you really want to see gains you should get a whole PI head <the cams really work best with the PI valves etc. Or you could save a little money and just get a 99' new edge

yeah I am in the same boat as you my friend. I would jusk fork out a lil extra and go with the P.I. head swap.

Some people shouldn't reply if they have no clue [:@]

Doing the PI intake swap is great but adding the pi cams is even better...it will help you make more power higher in the rpm range. Together you will see a solid 30rwhp gain for a minimal investment. Its one of the best bang for the buck mods a NPI can do.

+1... I'm on Mustang Forums, too and I read that whole big write up about doing the whole swap compared to doing the intake/cam swap. After reading it, I realized that I just wanna do the cam/intake swap. Spending so much more money on just the heads that will only add about 10 more WHP doesn't seem worth it to me.
