Unsure about modding the 'stang
My stang is my daily driver (02 GT). I have 56,6xx miles on it and was wondering if i should get another ride to be my daily driver. My concern is that every day going to school and back home i rack up 70 miles. Should i mod it anyway or should i get another car first? Do these cars run well with mods and higher miles on them? what do you guys think?

I was debating the same thing, and I just went over the 85,000 mile mark. Right now all I have is a K&N air filter, Mac o/r h-pipe and some 1 Chambered Flowmasters. I was gonna trade the car in for a Cobra, but I might wait on that and just get a couple more bolt ons for this thing and then finally go with a KB S/C. I'm sure there are alot of people on here with bolt ons and S/C's and they are over the 100,000 mile mark, you really dont know if your gonna have problems, its just something you cant estimate is gonna happen. I havent had any problems with my car with the exception of the damn CD player being jammed, and its a 6 disc, so only the radio for me. All I can say is keep up with the maintenance and get things fixed right away if there are any problems.

You can be almost 100 percent sure that the simple boltons like exhaust/intake/gears etc etc are not going to effect how long your car lasts or how it will drive on the highway.
Being that you drive so much, I would highly reocmmend a straight thru muffler like a magnaflow etc to keep your highway crusing noise to a miniumum. The baffled mufflers like flowmaster etc tend to drone and get very annoying.

So you dont think you would like the way my o/r h-pipe and 1 chambered Flowmasters would sound cruising on the interstate?

I then put a set of LTs and the o/r X on the car (with the welded in flows).
The sound it made on the highway was extremely annoying. DDDRRROOONNNEEEE DDDRRROOONNNNEEE DDDRRROOONNNEEE over and over again just sucks. I dunno if every flowmaster setup sounds the same, but they are known for the drone.
The magnaflows are quiet on the highway unless you get on it. They don't drone, and even with the o/r pipe etc you can still hold a conversation at normal level.

LOL, yeah on the interstate whenever I'm cruising, its very hard to talk to the person in the car and almost impossible to talk on the phone. The 1 chambers that I have are like the loudest mufflers you can get, thats what I was told and people were telling me on www.mustangexhaust.com , that and SLP LM1's were the 2 loudest, especially when put with an o/r midpipe.

As of right now i have flowmaster mufflers, and my next mod would be full exhaust. The flows alone aren't that loud, they are the loudt from 1800 to about 2300 RPM, then they are quiet till i get to about 2800 RPM, that is when they ROAR!! I've never heard a full exhaust in person, that's probably why I think my flows are loud [8D]
