Default Radiator Paint?

Ok I have a Mach 1 Grill Delete and was wandering if there is anyway I can maybe paint the radiator part behind it black, with out messing up any performance or whatever?

if you sprayed it with spray paint with a layer or two it would do fine

Make sure to use heat resistant spray paint though, wouldnt be to good if your radiator caught on fire Use very little though, do not coat it!

You won't have to worry about fire resistance, since your radiator shouldn't ever get about 300 degress. Think: Engine coolant shouldn't ever pass 260F. If it is, then you have bigger problems..


The big part of painting something, like a radiator, or intercooler, is that it takes away from it's thermal dissipation properties... Sure, if you just painting a small section, then it shouldn't be an issues, but the more layers of paint, or powder coat you put on, it's less efficient it makes the aluminum or copper, from transferring heat..


So don't paint like a maniac...
