Default Cat Placement

I have a MAC o/r prochamber, and i had this great idea... why deal with the PITA manifold bolts, o2 sensors and other bolts when it comes to getting my car inspected, when i can use a sawzall and cut out a portion of my midpipe and just get some big band clamps for each side and clamp in 2 2.5" high flow cats. i can get magnaflow cats for 55 each on ebay, and i believe the band clamps are 5 a piece from jegs or summit. my question is, does it matter where the cats are in the midpipe. my intentions were to get them as close to the bend that heads up to the manifolds that is parellel to the ground. will i still pass emmisions?

this way i wouldnt have to take my whole prochamber off once a year, which is a PITA, and if i ever do get a ticket for emmisions i can just put my cats on and get the ticket dropped. this is the same concept as the SLP xpipe that has bolt in and out cats.

You are defeating the purpose of owning an off road x. Most people get the x for the sound and not the 5rwhp you get from it. I don't think its that hard to take off 8 nuts once a year.

I think it would pass, but you would have to look at your individual state's laws to see.

The main problem will be the visual inspection.

I have a really easy way to pass inspections. I find someone shady and pay 40 bucks for a 8 dollar inspection

Haha that reminds me of right before i got my new exhaust put on. I had to run straight pipes for the time being. I got a noise ticket and my court date was after i got my exhaust and they checked out the car on D day and said it wasnt too loud at all and they dropped the ticket haha. It was great.

dont get me wrong, i love the sound, i just dont want to have to keep my big hunk of junk laying around in storage or at my house. my dad still doesnt know that i switched them out (im not sure how). its mainly because im still in college and this is going to be my car for a while so later on down the road when im driving clients to lunch or something i dont want it smelling like gas (eventhough im not sure who doesnt love that smell) or being too loud to scare off clients haha. ive also knoticed a drop in low end torque (im guessing due to the backpressure loss from no cats)and i kinda miss that. i just think it would be nice to have the same thing as SLP with thier bolt in cats, except on a prochamber, ya know? thats another reason i did the bullit gauge cluster.... it looks bad ***, and very few non bullitt GTs have them
