yea man I'd have a look at your exhaust first, you know, jack the car up or put it on ramps and shake down the pipes, see what rattles... check everything underneath. It's hard to see a 5 speed tranny going out at 53k unless it was severely powershifted every day of it's life.

^ good to hear. the original owner was bought it when he was 58, he babied that thing, ive had it for 2 months and have power shifted or dumped the clutch maybe 3 times since ive had it.

my car had a rattle too coming from the same area your describing. the fix: get a loud exhuast to over power it . i did it and dont hear it anymore.
