You have a wonderful thing called a parasitic drain. Usually can be very simple to find and fix.... or not.
Could be something as simple as a realy stuck in the 'on' position. What you'll have to do is find out the current draw on the battery when the key is off and you have everything off in the car. Then you start pulling fuses and see when it drops. When the current drops when you pull a fuse out, you have just found the problem circuit.

Can be a real real bitch.
Sounds stupid, but there isn't a light staying on inside is there?

Well it's not the alternator if the car is dying while parked lol.
Yea monkeydude's advice should help track down your short. If you have access to an amp meter I'd also say take one of the battery leads off & stick the amp meter between the battery post & the loose cable & see how much current is passing through there when the motor os OFF and everything else is shut off. There should be hardly NO current (just a very little bit)
