RE: Bassani midlength headers
I dont have a definitive answer for you, but I'm pretty sure that Bassani is the only company that makes a mid-lentgh for mod motors, and I have never seen another company that makes a matching midpipe

RE: Bassani midlength headers
Yea as far as I know also, Bassani is the only company making mid-length headers for our cars... Therefore you would need the Bassani X (obviously the one to match the mid-lengths) from them, probably the only X that will fit those headers.

RE: Bassani midlength headers
I know the Bassani midpipes can connect to most catbacks that I'm aware of... but if you get the bassani headers, is their any other midpipe you can run? I was gonna run the Steeda catted X and maybe use the Bassani midlength headers if they could connect. If not, then I'll go a different route. There are 3 sizes that I know of.... longtubes, midlengths, and shorties.

RE: Bassani midlength headers
Ok, I spoke with the mechanics and owners of P and J speed Shop in Buffalo, NY , very reputable shop that has been in the magazines a lot lately, and they did my dyno tune, great guys, anyways, they said that if you have a late model x pipe from Bassani that is SS, the tube in front of the cat should be clamped on not welded. In order for it to work, you remove the tubes and then bolt it on as normal. If you don't have the late model (like me, i have an early SS x-pipe with cats) you can cut the tubes off and weld it to make it work. They quoted me somewhere around $1100 for full installation. That would mean putting in the headers, cutting and welding in the X. I didn't ask what other pipes would work but i am sure they can help you out if you call 7166946363.

RE: Bassani midlength headers
Yes, there are three lengths of headers- long tube, midlength, and shorty (which is the stock headers as well. Very few companies make midlengths, and I'm pretty sure you have to use that same companies special mid-pipe for them. A shop could possibly make the one you have fit as well.
