Ive heard that the light from no cats causes you to run a bit lean. Good for power but not so good for motor. I found like new mils for 25 and they work

ok...how many times must we go over this. not having cats will NOT cause ur car to run like crap. the air/fuel is calculated by the front o2 sensors, which have the exact same reading as if the stock midpipe was on there. the rear o2s are used to make sure ur cats are functioning properly. ive been driving around with my light for a few weeks now, and it runs perfectly fine. i have no idle issues what so ever. its gonna smell like gasoline becuase there are no cats burning up the excess fuel. even if u buy a tuner, or get MILs, its still gonna smell like that. either your gonna need to get used to it, or buy a catted midpipe. im not wasting my money on MILs since they do not work half the time. im just gonna get a tuner when i get my gears, but who knows how long thats gonna take.

Yup I got an argument about my auto tech teacher about this. He said will make your car run ****ty. Went online proved to him that the front o2 sensors, are the ones that affect gas milegae/ af ratio. It was actually pretty funny.

dont listen to anyone else, it will not cause ur car to run bad. if its running bad, then theres a different problem.

Just think about it..those oxygen sensors are there for a reason and its to measure how effectively your CAT are working. If, for any reason, they stop working or you take them off..they will sense too many polutants on the exhast gases AND your ECC will compesate for that by running too lean affecting your horsepower and your torque. This is a prove fact. The check engine light is there also for a reason.. yeah, it annoys you but also to alern you something seriously is wrong with your engine. You should not take it for granted, those lights are there for a reason..not just to annoy you. Yeah, you might not get a performance hit that you notice cause of the mods u have. All stangs here are different and act different to different stuff.. I bet ya with so many 4.6 mods around here..some ****ed up sparkplugs like bousch or something will give ya pinging and thus engine light with some stangs while work perfectly work with others. Its up to your setup..but the bottom line is..if u get check engine light on, fix it cause it will **** up something else down the road.

Mine goes off and on when it feels like it. I am gonna wreck, because I always stare at that damn light.
