TKO 500/600
Im looking to buy my tranny in Jan. and was wonering why not go the TKO 600?? its less than $100 more expensive and it will take an Extra 100whp right?? Everyone i know gets TKO 500's why not the 600??
ANd what is a GOOD Clutch/Flywheel to go with? a Streetable one...

Spec clutches have a good reputation for the most part, so do centerforce. As for flywheels, stock unless you want aluminum, then look at fidanza.
The 600 has a lower gear ratios, so your acceleration will suck. 1st gear is 2.87 compared to a t-45/3650 which has 3.37/3.38 respectively and so on. Also has a 26 spline input/31 spline output.
The 500 ratios are much closer to the 45/3650 with a 3.27 first gear and so on. the 500 also has a 10 spline input/31 spline output

My dad has a Tremec TKO 600 on his Shelby Cobra. It can sure handle the HP, no doubt.
Mark's probably right about the gear ratios, though. If you're looking to put a roots S/C on it, or run Nitrous, you'd wanna go with the 600 IMO.

kk thnx. I didnt know that the Gear Ratios were diff from the 2. I just thought it was the Tq Ratings that differed. But thanx for the fast Responses. Sux i gotta spend 2,200 for the Tranny/Install Parts and 500 for the Cluth and Then Flywheel!!! thats like half of my S/c or Built motor!!!!!

I was looking at alot of places most were about the same cost. I think i finally Decided with D&D motorsports(cant member) gotta start calling again.. It was 2k or like 2,200 For the Tranny/Diff Drive Shaft/ new Bellhousing. EVERYTHING to get it in my car and Shipped to my door. Then i gotta buy a Clutch, and im getting a New Flywheel. Since everything else is goanna be good. :-)

yeah, i Hope so... ive got like 1K saved. need another Grand.. untill i can get the Tranny in the mail.. Then ill get the Clutch last..... I just want the Tranny sitting in my Garage!!!
