last i checked, you gain a bit of tq, but lose a bit of hp, like 2-3 hp 2-3 ftlbtq, nothing that will make a difference in track times really. and i got that from a dude that builds track cars for a living, icon motorsports fyi.

how much louder would it be with turndowns than if you were just running a catback 40 series flowmasters

Ok .. the only reason i have turndowns off the muffler instead of tails is because a) it sounds better and b) i have a saleen s281e clone and the center exhaust is just some hot magnaflow tips tacked in place... just like my buddies roush clone .. he has fake tips and turn downs off his mufflers because the side exit exhaust is crap .. you won't lose HP or Torque .. or I should say . any noticable hp or tq by welding on some turndowns .. but if you have a stock 4.6 and just unbolt the cat back and put some turn downs on .. its really not that great even though it sounds like a damn nascar ... i know alot of corvette owners that have dumps .. its like a pipe like dan was describing that with a push of a button closes off the passage way to the cat back and dumps the exhaust right out after the headers ... its so you can drive around town normal and when you get to the track you let that that high perf. engine breathe
