Anyone with a manual with remote start?
I know they sell remote starts for manual cars. I am curious into getting one. Its getting fricking cold in the morning!! If you got one, let me know what make and model it is and how much was it... Did you install it yourself, or how much was the install? Thanks!

Yes you have to keep in neutral when you want the remote start to work.. Here are the steps to arm the system.
The routine to enable, or set, the remote starter is done when parking the vehicle. While the vehicle is still running, you set the emergency brake and place the vehicle in neutral. Then, while the vehicle is still running, you press a button on the remote which will cause the systems status LED to flash along with the parking lights. You then remove the keys from the ignition and will notice that the engine will stay running. Within 15 seconds, you exit the vehicle and after closing the door press a button on the remote that will shut the engine down. Your vehicle can now be remote started safely. If this procedure is not followed exactly everytime before you try to attempt to remote start your vehicle, the remote start feature of the system will not operate.

My friend has the viper remote start in his 5 speed stang. Ive seen him remote start it then the car jumped and almost rolled into another car. Then his wires shorted out from the "profesional instalation".

pro install all right... It can be put on a manual but like stated above there are certain things that have to be there so you can safely use it... so it doesn't shoot the car somewhere you don't want it

I'm looking to buy one too, and my car's a 5-speed. Autostart is one of the bigger models/brands here, and their best models inclucd a security system as well as a 2-way LCD remote. The remote itself will let you know if the car successfully started or, with the alarm option it will page you if someone's fugging with your car in the parking lot.
You WANT a remote starter that includes an alarm, because the installation of the remote starter DISABLES the Ford factory PATS ignition disable feature.
