Installing Key-less Entry, Wiring question!
Hey guys, I'm installing a Bulldog Keyless entry system I got from pep boys. It seems to be pretty mainstream, not something I would reccomend for the mechanically declined (it's pretty difficult to install).
One question I have right now, before I even start is, the installation requires me to tie a constant 'hot" ignition wire (12V from batt.) to the module. It also mentions that if the vehicle is equipped with an airbag, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. It warns that it will send a code to the CEL and it will need to be cleared at the dealer. But, don't you HAVE to disconnect the battery so you don't get zapped? If you touch a bare 12V wire from the ignition, doesn't that send a shock through your body?
Would it even hurt to disconnect the battery? I feel MUCH safer with the battery disconnected.
Thanks for the help.
