You have a cobra without a S/C? Sounds like somebody got ripped off I didn't know they made Cobras before 2003.

Yeah they made one in 99 an 01, both weren't s/c, but 99's were overrated on HP and had a recall. Mines stock with 320HP

How much boost can those N/A 4v take? I would throw a KB on there and see were that goes with the stock block.

No idea, I never really hear of 4v s/c other than the terminators.

I know for a fact that you will deffinetly need to beef up your suspension. The 01 Cobra's rear is not as strong as the 03/04's are. Ever heard of the red pill? That will make your IRS very sturdy and durable. Either that, or go with a solid rear axle. A Kenne Bell would work well for you... but you will need all the supporting mods with it. Such as injectors, boost-a-pump, throttle body, cai, maybe some idlers, heat exchanger, intercooler and a clutch kit. Thats just off the top of my head as there are more that you can get into with the more horsepower you wanna run. Thats one option.

Another option is to go twin turbo. But you wont get that plus everything else you need for less than $10k I would think. A supercharger is what I would suggest. Just my 0.02

If Im not mistaken the compression ratio on N/A cobra's like jjones' was pretty high like 10.5:1 or something like that. I don't know if I would go too high in the boost without some forged internals. 4 valve guys speak up! My info may not b correct.

Honestly, you're 20. You'll probably live a lot longer. Spend a little bit and put the rest away for the future, unless the $10K is just a small portion of a much larger amount of cash.
That's the problem, I want to do it when I'm young because when i get married, I know this will never happen, I'll probably end up having to sell it
Dude, I was 36, married with children when I got my GT. Being married does not end your life. With the exception of the time I was in Germany, I've had a two door 'sporty' car in my drive since I got married. I don't spend big $$ on it at one time, but I've averaged $100 per month or so since I started modding it.

Why would you have to sell it?

THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!
Grab a mongoose kit of your choice from Modular Powerhouse. They have Vortech, KB, paxton, and they had talked about procharger.
After this you need to work on suspension. I'm no expert on suspension but U/L control arms, adjustable shocks and struts, tubular k-member, panhard bar...<--------- someone else chime in.
I have 375 hp at the wheels now and stock suspension with lowering springs and let me tell you it sucks. It sucks really really bad. I got beat the other night by a guy with probably 150 less hp.
DO NOT GET A TON OF HP IF YOU DON'T HAVE SUSPENSION. ITS NOT FUN!

It's just you always hear about people having to sell their sport cars when they get married so they can afford a house and stuff, i don't know. I guess I'm looking at worse case scenario.
