"Gear whine" is caused by poor installation. Any major name brand gear manufacture will be fine if installed correctly.
Richmond gears always whine even if they are installed correctly......

I'd stay away from used gears, otherwise any brand should do fine, if they are installed properly.

richmonds whine because their teeth are straighter, its not due to impropor set up, motive and FFRP are good

i have motive 3.73s they have no whine, and i used the oem shims.
the backlash was perfect.
this may not be the same for your car as they are
all a little different.

alright cool, so there really is no bad gears than as long as they are installed right. im also planning on getting a shift kit. Transgo the best?
I actually JUST installed my transgo shift kit today and i'll say it's freaking badass. HUGE difference. I too was wondering what kit to go with and heard more good things about transgo than any other kit. I'd recommend it. I'll tell you what everyone else has told me "you won't regret it."
