Default 4.10 vs 4.30

Are 4.30 overkill? I live in an area where the speed limit is only 55 and there are no major highways that have a speed limit of 70 or 75. The car is not driven in the winter and I only drive about 60 so I don't get a ticket. The only time I would be on a highway doing about 80 would be on trips which would only happen about once or twice a summer. Do 4.30 sound like to low of a gear ratio for my situation?

Ok, My car has 48,??? miles on it right now and if I put gears in it, should the bearings still be good for a while or just put new ones in while I'm at it.

Theoretically they are still good but you might as well for those "just in case" moments.

they SHOULD be fine, but do you really wanna take it apart again later just for bearings? If it was my car I'd do everything while I'm in there. My car has 115000 brutal miles on it now tho so when I get gears bearings is a MUST.

But I'd say replace them to be on the safe side and for good measure.

no on the bearings....... when ever you do your gear - do the bearings and races - my guy wont do a gear chnage unless you change those also ( and no he didnt charge me more [200 installed with oil] ).... its different if you swapped gears all the time - but most of us will only do it once - so yes change the bearings and races

Do the most of you agree that 4.30 are to much? I'm starting to think there is a reason most people are satisfied with the 4.10.

4.30's would be great heck go for the 4.56's. You barely see highway time. DO NOT FEAR THE GEAR
